Smartphone Cache Facts You Need to Know - Android Service

Andoid Service - For some smartphone users, the term cache may no longer sound unfamiliar. But for the uninitiated, the cache is a memory or temporary storage and aims to speed up access to various applications or websites that are often accessed on a smartphone.

Simply, cache works to speed up loading of an app or website. On the other hand, the bad impact of the cache is to make the internal memory get full fast. The larger the size of the application, the larger the cache depleted storage.

No wonder when the memory capacity is running low, some people try to clear the cache. But of course there are side effects of these actions.

Well if you are confused want to clear the cache or not, there are a number of things that can be taken into consideration.

1. Good effect of clearing cache

One of the good effects of removing the cache is making the smartphone feel lighter. This is related to the internal memory capacity. Once the cache is deleted, automatic space in the internal memory will increase and make the smartphone feel more comfortable to use.

In addition, applications that are usually frequent errors such as jams or lag, can also return to run better.

Not infrequently the user lazy to clear the cache for fear that all stored data is erased and lost. If you are one of them, there really is nothing to worry about.

The cache is just trash, so you'll never lose any data after deleting it.

2. The "bad" effect clears the cache

While overall removing the cache does not adversely affect the smartphone, but there are other effects that may not be liked by everyone. Because when the cache is deleted, application loading will be longer than before.

It really does not need to worry because it is only temporary. But it is a little annoying if you have to wait longer than usual.

Another effect is the battery will quickly drain after clearing the cache. This is because the system must start again from the beginning, so it requires more power than to restart or access the memory that has been stored. That's why the battery feels more drained after performing the cache removal.

ZenFone Tips: "Insufficient storage available" When Installing Apps

ZenFone Tips: "Insufficient storage available" When Installing Apps

If you're seeing an "Insufficient storage available" message on your Android, chances are that you've used up most of your device's available memory. To rectify this, you'll need to make some space by deleting apps and/or media; you can also add external storage, such as a Micro SD card, to your phone. In some cases, however, this error shows up even when you have plenty of space. If this is the case, you can restart your phone, reset your apps' caches, or reset the Google Play Store to resolve this issue. Or if you're using ZenFone you may try this troubleshooting:

        Follow methods below for troubleshooting:
        1. Uninstall apps that are not often used: Settings>Apps> (Select an app you want to remove) Uninstall.
        2. Move apps that are stored in internal storage to SD card: Settings>Apps>Tap MOVEABLE >Select an app > Move to SD card.
        3. Change default location of app installation to SD card: Settings >ASUS customized settings> App installation settings> Prefer External Storage.
        4. Delete data that are not in use.

8 Tips to Boost your ZenFone Series Battery Life

8 Tips to Boost your ZenFone Series Battery Life

        1. Lower screen brightness

An overly bright screen consumes more power and can be harmful to the eye. To adjust brightness, swipe down from the notification bar twice and use the slider. Extend your battery life, and protect your eyes while doing so!

        2. Shorten screen timeout time.

To squeeze more juice out of your battery, you can shorten the screen timeout time so that your phone goes into sleep mode faster. Try changing the time from the default 1 minute to 15 seconds.

To change this setting, tap Settings > Display > Sleep.
To change Cover View screen timeout time, go to Settings > ASUS Cover > Automatic sleep.

        3. Trim unnecessary background apps.

Prevent unnecessary apps you don't need from running in the background and consuming your battery by using Auto-start Manager. Tap Auto-start Manager to select apps you want to discontinue from running.

        4. Use Smart-saving Mode .

ZenFone has many extremely useful battery modes, one of which is Smart-saving mode. It provides extra toggles for brightness, a feature that turns off internet, and an Extend Standby feature that lowers battery consumption by efficiently managing your push notifications when your phone is in sleep mode.

Tap Settings > Power management > Power Saver > Battery Modes > Smart-saving mode.

        5. Tap Boost from Quick Settings.

Have you ever wished for a single button that solves all your problems? When you tap Boost, not only does it make your phone faster, but it also lowers battery consumption. Swipe down from the notification bar twice to find the Boost button.

        6. Choose Wi-Fi over 3G/4G Data.

Using Wi-Fi instead of a data connection will use less battery because your phone doesn't need to constantly search for the network.

To turn on Wi-Fi, swipe down from the notification bar twice and tap the Wi-Fi icon.

        7. Turn off Location Services, Bluetooth, and NFC.

Don't be lazy! Turning off these services when you're not using them can extend your battery life. To turn these services off, swipe down from the notification bar twice and tap the Location, Bluetooth, or NFC icon.

        8. Set up an Auto-switch mode schedule.

You can't be using your phone all the time! Set up a time interval in Auto-switch mode to automatically switch to a lower battery consumption power mode when you're not using it. To do this, tap Settings > Power management > Power Saver > Auto-switch mode. After enabling this feature and choosing your starting and ending times, we recommend setting it to change to Ultra-saving mode (the default).
